Dominik was born on April 4th 1977. He has been an active member of the jazz scene since the Mid-Nineties. Dominik was a student of Reimer von Essen, Trevor Richards and Norman Emberson .

He has undoubtedly a great musical talent both on piano and drums. He has had a chance to demonstrate this talent most impressively in numerous performances amongst others with the Barrelhouse Jazzband, Thomas l’Etienne, Patrick Artero and with Abi Hübners Low Down Wizzards on the Ascona Jazz Festival.

Dominik is a steady member of the La Vida New Orleans Band, Peter Herman’s Lagniappe, and of the Tailgate Jazzband. Since 1997 he has also been playing drums or piano in different formations put together by John Defferary.

Despite his contemporary and modern conception of playing he is always aware of his traditional roots.
